Trade- or craftspeople who created silk cloth by weaving threads together. Silk would be harvested, cleaned, carded, dyed, and then spun into thread. Weavers would then use a loom to weave the threads together to form fabrics. This generally refers to a trade active from the Middle Ages through the Industrial Revolution when the process was taken up by machine looms.
