The brothers and silk workers Giovanni Antonio and Lazzaro de Ponte sell an enslaved Bulgarian woman named Caterina, who is approximately 32 years of age, to a silk worker named Francesco de Sancto Miniato, for 150 Genoese lire. The payment is made in a measure of black and purple cloth, in the form of berets, which are described as being from Paris. Caterina is also indicated as pregnant and suffering from chest pains. The contract allows Francesco to return Caterina should she become ill because of the chest pains within one year. It also states that should Caterina die as a result of her pregnancy then the sellers must return 150 lire in account currency to Francesco.
