The slaveholder named Antonio Usodimare leases out an enslaved Circassian woman named Lucia, who is approximately 21 years of age, to a certain Gil Rois, a merchant from Catalonia, for a term of 3 years at a total cost of 30 Genoese lire. An earlier contract enacted in Caffa by the notary Gabriele Botario on 15 July 1455 notes that the enslaved Lucia had promised to serve in the household of Antonio for five years after which she would have been freed, and the contract notes that there remains four years, two months, and four days remaining on that term. This is essentially a sub-lease of the term of service of the formerly enslaved Lucia. The contract also states that Lucia may not leave the city of Genoa during the three-year term and after the end of this term she will be manumitted. The contract was extracted.
