- The slaveholder named Lucano de Marini leases out an enslaved Circassian child named Caterina, who is approximately 17 years of age, to a barber named Giacomo de Bonis, for a term of thirteen years and total payment of 95 Genoese lire. The lease contains the “talem qualem est” clause indicating that the buyers accepts any physical ailments that the enslaved Caterina may have. Luciano is represented in the transaction by Lodisio de Rocheta, acting as his procurator as per another notarial act dated 17 June 1455.
