- The slaveholder and nun named Argentina Salvago, abbess of the monastery of San Sepolcro in Sampierdarena, obtains insurance of 170 Genoese lire against the risk of childbirth from the underwriter Merualdo Grimaldi, for an enslaved Russian woman named Caterina, who is approximately 30 years of age. The enslaved Caterina is approximately four months pregnant and the contract has a term of seven months. Argenta is absent during the transaction and is represented by the enacting notary Tommaso Duracino. An addendum to the contract indicates that the nobleman Cattaneo Cicala guarantees that Merualdo will face no legal action as a result of this contract.
