- The slaveholder and shoemaker named Paolo de Andoria obtains insurance against the risk of death from childbirth from the underwriter Leonardo di Negro for the enslaved Bulgarian woman named Maria, who is approximately 25 years of age and about eight months pregnant, for the coverage of 100 Genoese lire. The contract has a term of three months. Paolo is represented in the contract by the enacting notary Tommaso Duracino. The contract also notes that the enslaved Maria had been previously held by a silk merchant named Giovanni Battista de Brevei.
