- The silk weavers and slaveholders Antonio and Niccolò Barbagelata purchase insurance against the risk of death from childbirth from the underwriter and blacksmith named Antonio de Tacio for an enslaved woman named Maria, who is denoted as Circassian or Abkhazan, and who is approximately 34 years of age and pregnant for about seven months, for 150 Genoese lire. The term is four months from the date of the contract.
