The slaveholders named Costanza Grimaldi and Pietro Pallavicino manumit an enslaved Circassian man named Valentino, who is approximately 25 years of age. The two holders manumitted Valentino through their roles as testamentary executors of the deceased Benedetto Vivaldi as per the testament enacted in 1455 by the notary Branca Bagnara. The testament stipulated that Valentino would be freed after five additional years of service to the heirs of Benedetto. Valentino served the heirs for part of the five years and then paid Costanza an unspecified sum of money in lieu of the remaining years of service. Costanza and Pietro retain the right of patronage.
