Revista istorică, founded by Nicolae Iorga in 1915, is published by the Nicolae Iorga History Institute (Bucharest, Romania). The new series of Revista istorică, launched in 1990, continues the tradition of its founder in the endeavor to connect Romanian historical research with international scholarship. The journal aims to integrate the history of Romania and Romanians, with its specificity, in the evolution of the great processes in global history. Revista istorică publishes studies in medieval, modern and contemporary history, giving priority to topics such as: maritime studies (particularly on the Black Sea); interethnic and interdenominational relations; relations between Church, State, and society; the role of the elites, social structures and institutions; the impact of communism on society, policy and propaganda. The publication of new primary sources and documents is warmly encouraged. Reviews of recently published books and presentations of conferences are also included in our issues. Revista istorică is published in six issues per year, grouped in three tomes (nos. 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6). Articles published in this jouranla are indexed in EBSCO – Historical Abstracts, International Medieval Bibliography (IMB) and Index Copernicus.
