This is the testament of a formerly enslaved Bosnian (or Albanian) woman named Maria, who was formerly held by the merchant Gregorio de Franchi and manumitted on 5 October 1498 through a contract enacted by the notary Giovanni Costa. Gregorio is also a beneficiary who receives a woolen garment. The formerly enslaved woman named Maddalena, who was formerly held by the deceased Battista Raibaldo and who the spouse of Antonio de Oliverio, is named as the universal heir. Maddalena also receives bequests of a vest made from Scottish cloth, one feather pillow, and 10 Genoese lire, and is to arrange the funeral and burial expense and distribute any remaining assets of the estate to the poor. Maria also leaves bequests of 12 lire to the Confraternity of Santa Maria, her clavichord to the Monastery of Santa Maria in Granrolo, 10 soldi to the Ospedale di Pammatone, and 5 soldi to the Ospedale degli Incurabili. Maria requests to be buried in the tomb of the Confraternity of Santa Maria in the Church of Santa Maria delle Vigne and allocates 12 Genoese lire for 1000 masses to be celebrated for her soul. She also requests the distribution of three linen cloths and another measure of 10 canne of cloth to the poor.
