Maria was an enslaved Ruthenian woman who was active in the eastern Mediterranean during the middle of the fifteenth century. She was manumitted in Famagusta in the winter of 1456.
Maria was an enslaved and baptized Muslim woman who worked as a servant in the household of Francesco Gambone and Primafiore Giustiniani in late-fifteenth century Genoa. She was liberated by Primafiore in 1497 and continued to work in the household of Francesco and Primafiore for three additional years as a condition of her manumission.
