Raffaele de Franchi was a Genoese merchant who was active during the late fourteenth and early fifteenth centuries. He was born as Raffaele Figone and entered into the de Franchi albergo in 1393, after which he assumed their surname.
The slaveholder named Iános Gaura, named as a Greek from the island of Chios, sells an enslaved Circassian man named Xeni, who is 20 years of age, to a certain Martino Luciano, for 36 florins of Chios. The notary mentions that Xeni has been baptized as Christian according to the Roman rites, and is sold with all health issues as "pro tali qualis est."
