Thessaloniki is a city in northern Greece. The city was part of the Byzantine Empire in the late Middle Ages (often contested) until it was conquered in 1430 and became part of the Ottoman Empire.
Tobia de Columnis was a Genoese slaveholder and banker active during the late fourteenth and early fifteenth centuries. He was born as Tobia Castagna and was admitted into the Columnis albergo sometime in the early fifteenth century.
